Williston is the “Gateway to the Nature Coast” located in north central Florida. We are a small community of approximately 3,000 but steadily growing. We are a proud rural community where everyone knows everyone, well almost. A friendlier town you won’t find, “Come once you are a visitor, come twice and you are family.” In the area we have farming for watermelons, peanuts, and other crops and we also have horse farms, cattle ranching and hunting for deer, hogs, turkey’s and don’t forget fishing. Also, don’t forget that we have a wonderful year-round climate.
We are proud members of the Florida League of Cities, Florida Economic Development Consortium, Florida Municipal Power Association, the Suwanee River League of Cities and others that benefits our residents and the City.
We are also proud of our airport where, if you like, you can house your own airplane and our industrial park. We have several companies located in the area such as Monterey Boats, A&N Corporation, AirSign and Shadow Trailers just to name a few. We are always looking to expand our industrial park while creating more jobs for the area.
Williston is a great place for young couples wanting to raise their families or for seniors just wanting to live in a rural setting and relax. For the RV’ers, we have Williston Crossings R.V. Resort. And while you are here check out and go diving at Blue Grotto and Devils Den Spring & Resort. Should one wish to go to the “big city” we are only 20 minutes away from Gainesville and Ocala.
If you need to know more about Williston please explore the areas below or just let us know and we will be more than happy to answer your questions. Stop by for a visit and take a look at our City and meet our friendly people. We hope that you will enjoy the area and meeting with us even though it might only be for a visit or better yet become a permanent part of our City and become a proud Willistonian.
Take Care and May God bless,
Mayor Jerry Robinson.
