The City of Williston, the Gateway to the Nature Coast, with an approximate population of 3,000 within 30 minutes of Gainesville and Ocala, is now accepting applications for the position of City Manager.

Reporting to the Mayor and the five-member City Council, the City Manager is the Chief Administrator for the City. The City has an annual budget exceeding $13 million dollars and has 50 full time employees. The City provides full municipal services to its residents inclusive but not limited to: electric, water, sewer, gas and solid waste, library, parks and recreation. The City also has an airport and an industrial park.

The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal skills along with public presentation and writing skills; an extensive knowledge of Florida public administration principles and practices in the areas of governmental budgeting, finance, grants, city planning, economic development and public works is required. The City also has its own police and fire department.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of five years experience in management, executive or public administration experience; a Master’s Degree in public administration or related filed is desired; an ICMA Certification would be a plus.

Minimum salary to be negotiated based on the above is $65,000 annually. Also included is health and life insurance as well as contributions to a pension plan.
