Responsibilities

The City of Williston Human Resource Department is responsible for a number of key functions that are necessary to support the City of Williston administration and impacts all departments. Human Resource focus areas include administration of compensation and benefits (including insurances and pension), recruitment and selection, training and development, employee and labor relations and safety and risk management. The Human Resources Department provides support directly to employees, department heads and benefits coordinators charged with benefits administration. The department also provides advice to the City’s elected and appointed officials on issues affecting employees and benefits within the City.

The Human Resource Department’s overall mission is to provide efficient and effective personnel management utilizing current best practices in keeping with the best interest of the citizens and taxpayers. The Human Resources Department strives to develop an attitude of teamwork, integrity, respect and safety. We are dedicated to creating an ongoing evaluation of the job classification system, applicant screening, workforce development, employee retention, training and development of our current and future City employees. This mission is in place to ensure transparency and accountability for all citizens of the City of Williston.
